Seller Listing Process
Sellers can submit their vehicle using our Vehicle Submissions Page, sellers upload photos, fill in information about their vehicle, and set the desired reserve amount.
If the submission is accepted, the seller pays the listing fee and we work with the seller to gather all necessary information on the vehicle to maximize the success of the listing (including videos, maintenance records, vehicle history, and service documentation). We then work with the seller to optimize the listing for the vehicle.
Buyer Bidding
Found a car that caught your eye? Participate in our user-friendly bidding process. We ensure a fair and transparent auction, giving everyone an equal opportunity to own their dream car.
We encourage all bidders to read the listing and review the entirety of the comment section before placing a bid. It is important that bidders carry out their due diligence to understand all the details of the car and insights offered by members of the community.
We incorporate sniping protection in our auctions. This extends the auction clock by two minutes each time a bid is placed in the auction’s final moments. The auction isn’t over until two full minutes have elapsed since the highest bid was placed.
Auction Closing
Winning a bid on Junk or Jewel is more than just a purchase, it’s an achievement. We make sure the process is smooth and the transition of ownership is hassle-free.
If the auction reserve is met when the listing ends (or the auction is no reserve), Junk or Jewel provides the seller and winning bidder with each others’ contact information.
The buyer and seller then work together to complete the transaction and arrange for shipping if necessary. Buyers are responsible for shipping, applicable taxes, registration fees, and other costs associated with vehicle ownership. Our staff is happy to provide assistance or answer questions during the transaction.
Payment Process
At Junk or Jewel, all we collect are listing fees from the seller and buyers fees from the buyer. We never handle the full payment amount on any vehicle. Payment is arranged directly between the buyer and seller after the auction closes. Junk or Jewel does not take possession of vehicles and does not process payment for vehicle purchases.
Safety and Fraud Prevention
Junk or Jewel encourages buyers to inspect vehicles before completing a purchase. Buyers and sellers communicate directly after an auction closes to arrange payment and transport. We advise buyers to use secure payment methods and verify vehicle documentation before completing a transaction.
